ERP Integration Services

When AccountMate, Sage or another commercial ERP handles accounting well but cannot do everything the business needs, we build a browser layer directly on the same database, adding B2B ordering, reporting and automation without replacing the ERP or its accounting history.

WHAT THIS INVOLVES

The scope, and what has to get right.

  • A browser layer over the existing ERP. Order entry, invoicing, payments and reporting screens built against the same database the commercial ERP already uses.
  • B2B customer portals. Account-gated ordering that writes real orders back into the ERP, not a separate storefront that needs synchronizing.
  • Document and email automation. Incoming documents and emails matched to the correct order automatically, removing manual filing.
  • Reporting the ERP cannot produce natively. Custom reports built against the live data, without exporting to a spreadsheet first.
HOW WE BUILD IT

Inside the system, not bolted on.

01

Work against the same database

Because the layer reads and writes the ERP's own SQL Server data, both systems stay in step with no synchronization process to maintain.

02

No re-keying

Orders placed through a portal or built by automation write back as real ERP records, not messages someone has to enter by hand.

03

Extend, don't replace

The ERP keeps its accounting history and established processes intact. The layer adds what is missing around it.

ANCHOR CASE STUDY

A web layer and B2B portal over a commercial ERP

A US BUILDING AND LANDLORD MAINTENANCE SUPPLIES DISTRIBUTOR · WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTION
  • AccountMate's functionality, in a browser: Order entry, invoicing, payments and reporting screens built directly against the same SQL Server data AccountMate uses, so both stay in step with no synchronization process to maintain.
  • Customers place their own orders: Account-gated self-service ordering against the live product catalog, with every order written back into AccountMate as a real ERP order rather than a message someone re-keys, plus full order history per customer.
  • Order shipping handled end to end: The shipping workflow that used to live partly outside the system now runs inside it, from order to dispatch.
  • Incoming email filed automatically: Attached documents are extracted from incoming email, OCR-processed, identified and attached to the correct order record, removing manual filing and the risk of a document landing on the wrong order.

QUESTIONS

Common questions.

Which commercial ERPs have you integrated with?

AccountMate is our deepest example, with a browser layer and B2B portal running for roughly ten years. The same approach applies to Sage and other SQL-Server-based commercial ERPs.

Do we lose our accounting history if we add a layer like this?

No. The point of this approach is that you keep the ERP, its data and its accounting history exactly as they are. The layer reads and writes the same database.

Can customers place their own orders through this?

Yes. A B2B portal is a common part of this work: customers log in, place orders against the live catalog, and the order lands in the ERP as a real order.

Is this the same as building a custom ERP from scratch?

No. Custom ERP development replaces or builds a new system. This extends a commercial ERP you are keeping, which is a different and usually faster path.

LET'S TALK

What can your ERP not do on its own?

Tell us what you are working around manually and we will tell you honestly whether a layer on top of your existing ERP solves it.
